Our Story | East Tennessee Family Farm
How Our Farm Took Root in East Tennessee
We’re a family-owned farm in East Tennessee raising grass-fed, grain-finished beef and premium pork in Greene County near the Smoky Mountains.
In 2006, after years in South Florida, we began looking for a place where we could raise our family and build something lasting. When we found our way to Greene County, Tennessee, everything shifted. The sunrise over the Smoky Mountains sealed it — this was where we were meant to plant our roots.
We pieced together the land that would become home for both our growing family and our cattle. As first-generation farmers, we committed ourselves to learning, asking questions, and doing things the right way from the very beginning.
Raising More Than Cattle
Over the years, we’ve raised five children — and now we’re blessed to watch our grandchildren grow up here, too. The farm isn’t just where we work. It’s where our family gathers, where meals are shared, and where values are passed down.
From the start, we cared deeply about what we were feeding our family. That commitment shaped everything we do. Our cattle are grass-fed and grain-finished for exceptional flavor, and our pork is raised with care and attention to quality. We believe good meat doesn’t happen by accident — it’s the result of stewardship, patience, and responsibility.
We raise our beef and pork in East Tennessee with the same standards we hold for our own table.
From Farmers Markets to the Fair
What started as selling beef shares to friends and at local farmers markets slowly grew. We set up a booth at the Greene County Fair — and winning Best Burger was a turning point. It affirmed what we already believed: good meat, raised right, makes all the difference.
As demand grew, so did the dream.
The 1897 Farmhouse
We renovated our historic 1897 farmhouse and opened it as our General Store in Greene County, Tennessee — a place where we serve smash burgers made from our own beef and create a welcoming space for our community.
What began as a search for land became a place where people gather.
Today, families sit on the porch, neighbors stop in for lunch, and visitors experience a little taste of farm life. Our store is more than a building — it’s an extension of the land, the livestock, and the values that guide our farm.
From our Family To Yours
We’re proud to share the same farm-raised beef and pork we feed our own children and grandchildren with families across Tennessee — and now across the country through nationwide shipping. DMD Family Farm is more than a business to us. It’s our home, our legacy, and our commitment to raising quality food the right way. We’re grateful you’re here.
