Ordering & Shipping
Learn how ordering and shipping works for our farm-raised beef, pork, and tallow products. Find answers about delivery schedules, shipping costs, packaging, local pickup, and how we safely ship frozen meat across the United States.
Ordering
When will my order ship?
We ship perishable orders on the first Tuesday of each month.
This schedule allows us to pack and ship all orders carefully so they arrive fresh and frozen. The next shipping date is always listed at the top of our website.
Can I pick up my order locally?
Yes! Local customers can choose local pickup when placing an order online.
You can also visit us in person at the DMD Family Farm General Store, where we often have an even wider selection available.
General Store Hours:
Thursday – Saturday
11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Will I receive tracking information for my order?
Yes.
After placing your order you will receive an order confirmation email. When your order ships, you will receive a second email with your UPS tracking information.
Please note that packages sometimes are not scanned by UPS until later in the evening on the shipping day.
Shipping
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes! We ship our farm-raised beef and pork to customers across the lower 48 United States.
Orders within our ground shipping region ship UPS 2-Day, while locations outside of that area ship UPS Next Day Air to ensure your order arrives safely and frozen.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping is flat rate based on your location, not the weight of your order.
Zone 1 — $29
Zone 2 — $39
Zone 3 — $59
There is no weight limit, so you can order as much as you'd like without increasing the shipping cost.
What states are in Zone 1?
Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Wisconsin.
Shipping zones and eligible states are accurate at the time of writing but may change.
What shipping methods do you use?
Depending on your location, your order will ship using:
• UPS 2-Day Air (most states)
How is frozen meat packaged for shipping?
All of our meat is vacuum sealed and flash frozen to preserve quality.
Orders are packed in insulated liners with dry ice to keep your meat frozen throughout transit.
This packaging helps ensure your order arrives cold and protected, even during longer shipping distances.
How are non-perishable items shipped?
Non-perishable items such as tallow products are typically shipped within 2 business days of receiving your order.
These items ship separately from meat orders via USPS or UPS and have a flat shipping rate of $10.
You will receive tracking information by email once your order has shipped.
*If your order includes both meat and tallow products, they may arrive in separate shipments due to different packaging and shipping requirements.
Delivery & Issues
How should I handle my meat when it arrives?
When your order arrives, open the box as soon as possible and place the meat in your freezer.
Our meat is vacuum sealed and flash frozen and shipped with insulated liners and dry ice to keep it frozen during transit.
If the meat arrives slightly thawed but still cold to the touch (below 40°F), it is safe to refrigerate for several days or refreeze according to USDA guidelines.
What if my package was delayed and my beef thawed?
Occasionally shipping delays can occur.
According to USDA guidelines, if meat arrives thawed but is still cold to the touch and below 40°F, it is safe to refrigerate for several days or refreeze for future use.
A small amount of thawing is normal and does not affect the quality or safety of the meat.
However, if your shipment was severely delayed and the contents arrived warm or spoiled, please contact us so we can review the situation.
What if no one is home when the package arrives?
While no signature is required, we strongly recommend someone be available to receive the package on the day of delivery.
If a package is left outside for an extended period of time (for example, sitting in direct sun) and the contents thaw, we cannot be responsible for replacement or refund.
Please plan ahead so the order can be placed in the freezer as soon as it arrives.
What is your return policy?
Because many of our products are perishable, we are unable to accept returns or issue refunds on meat products.
Once meat has left our facility, it cannot be returned or resold for food safety reasons.
